Using Soccer Stats For Big Profits
Anyone worth their salt will tell you that betting on anything is an absolute minefield unless you have statistics on your side and soccer is one of those sports where this is truer than most. So why, when almost everyone knows this already, do 99% of punters ignore the facts and persist in using team colours as their primary selection criteria?
Every Saturday afternoon millions of punters around the UK sit holding their fixed odds coupons in anticipation and come 5pm you can pretty much guarantee that the vast majority of them will have done their cash. The bookmakers make a fortune on football bets, simply because they know that most of the money they take in will never meet its original owner again.
This “mug punter” way of betting is a strange phenomenon, but there are millions of them out there and the bookies welcome them in with open arms every week of the year. So, how do you drop the “mug punter” tag and start using the power of statistics to propel yourself into the 1% of soccer punters who actually make decent money from betting on the sport?
Well, to start with, there are various tools and websites you can use….
Soccer Stats
This is probably the leading resource for soccer statistics, analysis and predictions. It contains a wealth of information on most of the major leagues in the world and you can delve into the stats for a detailed breakdown of each team’s performance and even how they normally fare against their upcoming opponents. It’s an excellent website and well worth bookmarking.
Soccer Base
This is somewhat similar to the website above in that you can easily do team and match comparisons, but you can also use it to research players, managers, transfers, grounds and even referees. If you want to get the full picture on a match before you place your bets then using this website in conjunction with Soccer Stats wouldn’t be a bad move.
Victor The Predictor
This is a new innovation from Betfair that uses a machine learning technique called Neural Network to provide you with an estimation of what the true odds of a home win, away win and draw should be in any match. The Network is trained on the last 10 years of soccer results and no statistical analysis is involved. It’s worth checking the odds here before you bet.
I can guarantee that if you only do what I’ve suggested here and visit these websites to check the team comparisons for upcoming games, then use the predictor tool to see what it feels the true odds of a match should be, this will already put you streets ahead of the majority of punters, but for those of you who are looking for the ultimate soccer betting solution, here it is….
Soccer Mystic
This is the groundbreaking new software from the team at Bet Angel and once you’ve tried it you will never look back. It’s an awesome tool that enables you to play out strategies before a game has even started, predict what the market is likely to do next when the game is in-play and trade yourself into profitable positions over and over again, no matter what the final result should be.
It has three key features that will improve your profits in soccer markets:
# The Price Predictor
This amazing feature allows you to model a match before it has started and even in-play. You’ll learn what’s likely to happen and its effect on your position in the market. The software’s built-in artificial intelligence means that Soccer Mystic is like a fine wine, it gets better with age.
# Market Selection And Management
You’ll be able to quickly identify, store and retrieve all available markets and the most tradable markets in one go. You can trade all of these markets simultaneously and keep an eye on the available odds and your open positions all on one screen.
# Advanced Trading And Betting Tools
Soccer Mystic contains many features that enable you to place carefully constructed orders in the market to maximize your profit potential. Quickly assess your current positions and execute simple or complex trades in a flash. One click is all you need to enter or exit the market.
Imagine looking at a soccer match and knowing exactly what will happen to the odds, how they will move and where to place your trades before the match has even started. That, my friends, is a license to print money and it’s exactly what Soccer Mystic can do for you.
This is THE soccer betting tool of the future and it gets my highest recommendation!
Until next time,
Online Betting Exposed

You guys are fair knocking out the articles this week. I’ve started checking in when I get home from work every night to see what’s new. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Davey! We’re working hard to get the website up to scratch in time for Cheltenham in 20 days time
Hi guys, I agree with your comments on checking the huge amount of online info resources on the football prior to betting/trading. There’s so much free info out there to help find value and feel more comfortable in bets/trades placed.
As for Soccer Mystic, Ive heard mixed reviews so far. One service I listen to had the following to say. (I was mainly interested in the price prdiction side of things)
‘One of the major selling points that will attract traders to this software is the revolutionary price predictor, so is it revolutionary?
In principle its a great idea and it seems to fit the bill before a ball is kicked and probaly works best on know the price on a 0-0 draw.
Sadly; for me and the vast majority of the live soccer traders its the extra information during the game is the most important. Things like if back the under 2.5 goals at this price, what will the price be in 5 minuets time?
The kind of results I was getting back were unreal, like the 1.01, so there are major floors with the calculations to produce these kinds of results.
Also on backing a team where you would be if no goal or the team you want to back or the other teams scoring the next goal will not produce a green-up opportunity on all three outcomes, no matter how much you wish.
I like to look at the positives in most things and for a first effort its not bad and the idea is a strong one, however as professional trader with a large proportion of my trading on the beautiful game, the in-correct information the price predictor returns in-play is not good enough and could cost novice traders money.
To be fair, they explain that in-running is difficult to predict and I would agree, but if they can get the software to reflect the market better, it would be a very good tool to use.
In Summary: I would give a big thumbs up for innovation, but if you are serious about trading football in-running its a bit of white elephant. That said for the price with the combination of Bet Angel Professional it does represent value for money’
Cheers W
Hi Warren,
Soccer Mystic’s statistics engine is based on virtually the same thing Peter Webb has used for his own trading for years and in terms of profit on turnover I believe he’s one of Betfair’s most successful traders, plus if you attend any of Betfair’s own training seminars and ask if they offer any kind of advanced training they tell you to speak to Peter Webb, so I’d have every confidence in the in-play predictor improving over time.
As the other chap said, it’s already fantastic for predicting the odds on different types of markets pre-match and it’s made up of Bet Angel’s powerful trading features too, so all in all it is good value for money. I’ll be interested to see how it develops over time.

I’m with Warren here, the software on the face of it appears to be of immense value. But the ‘in-play’ price predictions just do not cut the mustard and it may well cost the novice big-time!
Perhaps that aspect of the package could have been held back until it was of more use.
If you ignore that function and you dont already have a ‘pro’ standard interface and you are only interested in trading soccer then it’s a useful piece of kit. But there are a lot of if’s and but’s there, that you should consider before parting with your hard earned cash.
Well in my opinion anyway.
The comments on Soccer Mystic are interesting and contradictory to my experiance, I’d be keen in reading the mentioned review. Perhaps somebody can link to it. I read about soccer mystic in flutter magazine and they had a completely different opinion. I’ve played around with it, the price predictor, and it is pretty accurate from what I can see. There is a signal indicator to tell you if you have set it up correctly and how accurate the forecast is, low signal or do it wrong and of course its a case of GIGO. Its worked a treat for me and has allowed me to mess around to my hearts content without any risk. It’s a really interesting product.
I agree with you Fred and the software is improving all the time. I’ve used it this afternoon to make a pretty penny on the Sunday footie.
