Welcome to week 40 of the OBE Betting System Reviews.
Time once more for our weekly update, it comes around so quickly! I think
somebody must have heard me bemoaning the weather last Wednesday,
because we had a fantastic sunny end to the month. September is now
behind us and the jumps season is fast approaching, but not before the
last big races of this flat season.
Last weekend was, of course, Arc weekend with the creme de la creme
of European horses competing for massive prize money. Did you back a
winner? I wouldn’t have found the first two home in the Arc, if I’d looked
at it for weeks: I just didn’t see that happening. The big pre-race
favourites Sarafina and So You Think were disappointing, but “car park”
draws of stalls 13 & 14 certainly didn’t help their causes!
Perhaps I could recoup some of my losses with the systems currently on
trial at OBE? Let’s see how they got on this week.
Well, there wasn’t much movement at all for the first 3 I’m going to look
at: Adyslayoftheday clawed 1.9pts back to almost reach a break-even point
for the trial and Lay The Ratings slipped further into the red, but only by
a mere 0.04pts: neither here nor there really! Meanwhile there was finally
some profit for Winners Agency who managed to chip just over a point
off their previous deficit of 18pts. Hardly stirring stuff from any of these!

However, three of our trial systems would have been over the moon with a
quiet week, after losing quite heavily themselves. Football Formula’s dismal
run came to an end with a final week loss of 9.4pts, bringing their final
tally to -142pts in just 46 days: non-league performances there! My long
standing bookmark The Horse That Should Win also had a difficult time of it
with a large loss of 21.7pts, yet it still stands at around the 1pt per day profit
mark. And the biggest loser this week was Cherry Bets who followed
up last week’s loss with another: 29.3pts this week, making a total loss of
99pts in the last fortnight. It’s going to be a long road back for them!

All of which brings us to our “Star of the Week”, which is Win Naps ( just like
last week!). They brought home a fantastic 13.2 pts this week, which gives
them a profit of 38.6pts in the last two weeks alone. Definitely one to watch!
So I’m certainly marking Win Naps down as my one to watch this week, whilst I
remain confident enough to keep my bookmark on The Horse That Should
Win for at least another week!
